Cow Parade

CowParade
is a unique art exhibit featuring life-sized fiberglass cows whimsically decorated
as a "Rock-N-Roll" icon, a mermaid and a pink French poodle. This
delightful exhibit has been successfully displayed in Chicago, Kansas City,
Houston and New York.Future
locations in 2002 include Portland, Oregon, Las Vegas, London, Australia,
and Montevideo, Uruguay. Cow Parade is marching through the world and may
be coming to a city near you! The event is made possible by the combined efforts
of the city sponsoring the event, the local art community and corporate sponsorships
for each cow. Professional and amateur artists create these wonderful cows
for everyone to enjoy. Children and adults alike are moved by the creativity
and whimsy of this public art event that is accessible to everyone. At the
end of the exhibit, many of the cows are auctioned off, with a substantial
portion of the proceeds going to local charities benefiting children, arts
and education. Chicago Auction raised 3 million dollars for charity with the
average bid going for $25,000 a cow. Westland Giftware has created replicas
