Enesco - The Jim Shore Collection - Heartwood Creek - Santas 1 A self-taught artist from South Carolina, Jim Shore's career began in engineering before turning his full attention to art. A master sculptor and painter, Jim uses a variety of media, including watercolors and egg tempera. He has also perfected his techniques in silver and gold smithing, wood carving, stained glass and furniture making. Jim's nostalgic memories from his Southern country upbringing and his love for intricate patterns blends to create his charming collections. His genuine, down-to-earth personality and excellent eye for detail gives every piece its heart-warming appeal. Bright, seasonal colors, a wood-like finish and cheerful, "smiling" eyes makes each of these santas a pleasant finishing touch to holiday decor. Quilted patterns and colors mix with the primitive styles of folk art to produce Jim Shore's vision of the tradtions of Christmas.
