The Jackie Doll Black and White Gown Ensemble
A. The remarkable likeness of Jackie's beautiful face is
framed by dazzling faux pearl earrings. In September 1962, Jacqueline Kennedy traveled to New York City to attend the opening of the Philharmonic Hall at Lincoln Center, the elegant showcase for the performing arts. At the premier, Jackie wore a full-length black and white gown adorned with a black satin bow, one of the "Jackie look" signature touches. The "T-shirt" style bodice had a rounded neckline and was embroidered with brilliantes and glitter. The dazzling bodice elegantly contrasted with the white satin skirt. As with so many of her fashions designed by Oleg Cassini, the black and white gown that Jackie wore that evening reflected her own personal style...classic beauty and simple elegance. |
